Canine First Responders
So ... What makes someone fly 24hours from Australia to the UK (apart from visiting their family as well) to do the Canine First Responder Course?
Why would two young ladies fly over from Denmark to do the courses with us? Why would a group of 17 people get out of bed at some ungodly hour on their weekend off over in Ireland to come see two English men deliver their courses (albeit they didn’t know one of the English men was actually a fellow countryman of theirs)? |
What makes someone drive through the night from the top of Scotland to get to the Midlands to do a course?
I could go on but I think you get the point.
The answer is, they want to know what to do in case of an emergency with their dog and also in the case of Instructor Candidates, they also want to know how to pass those skills on to others and, there is no other course out there that meets our very high standard of training.
It actually says a lot about us as a nation of animal lovers when a young Mother phones the centre for the costs of doing a Paediatric First Aid Course and balks at the cost. On hearing a small dog in the background we informed her that we do Canine First Aid Courses as well which costs the same, the answer without hesitation........
“When’s your next one!”
Experience has shown us that most people book on to a human Primary and Secondary Care course after they have experienced an incident and they had no clue what to do. So, rather than that happen again they want to be prepared next time or they are sent by their employer and really don't want to be there but they drew the short straw.
With Canine First Aid that certainly happens too but the vast majority want to learn what to do before they have the experience of being at an incident with a dog. As my good friend and colleague, Michael Hayes recently quoted elsewhere,
“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated” · Mahatma Gandhi.
This just about sums it up, we want the best for our dogs and by getting training in Canine First Aid and CPR we ensure we can do the best for them in that emergency situation and all training providers will claim that their course is the best but we can truly say ours is “The Best” for reasons that will become apparent when you read about the course on its own page.
As a training provider we actually train more Canine First Responders™ per year than Human First Aiders and more than any other Canine First Aid Training Company.
